Terms of Service

Last updated 12 October 2026

These terms cover your use of Paxis, on the web and in the app. By creating an account you agree to them.

The most important part

Paxis is not medical advice. It explains medical evidence in plain language. It does not diagnose, it does not recommend treatment, and it does not replace your doctor. Never start, stop or change any treatment based on what you read here. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to an emergency department.

What Paxis does

Paxis retrieves published medical research and explains it. Answers are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Research also changes, and something accurate today may not be accurate later.

Where a question is really a decision about your care, Paxis is designed to say so and, if you are connected to a clinician, to offer to send it to them rather than answer it.

What Paxis does not do

  • It does not provide a diagnosis.
  • It does not tell you whether your results are good or bad.
  • It does not predict what will happen to you.
  • It does not recommend one treatment over another.
  • It is not monitored in real time. Nobody is watching for urgent messages around the clock.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • Give accurate information when you sign up.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person.

Connecting to a clinician

You can connect your account to a doctor who uses Paxis, either with a code from their office or by requesting a connection they then confirm. Connecting means answers can take your actual diagnosis into account and that you can send questions to them.

Your doctor decides whether and when to answer. Paxis is not a way to reach anyone urgently and there is no guaranteed response time. If something is urgent, contact your care team directly or call 911.

Using it reasonably

Do not use Paxis to provide medical care to other people, do not try to break or overload it, do not scrape it, and do not upload someone else's medical information without their permission.

Your content

What you write stays yours. You give us permission to process it in order to run the service, which is described in the Privacy Policy. We do not use it to train models and we do not sell it.

Beta

Paxis is in early testing. Features may change or break, and the service may be unavailable at times. We may end the beta or change how the product works.

No warranty

Paxis is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Paxis, or from any decision made in reliance on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the Me tab in the app or by emailing us. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or that puts other people at risk.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will tell account holders by email.
