Paxis Opening
Paxis
Understanding your care, in plain language
Follow one person, Maria, from her first question through to a reply from her own oncologist. Seven steps, about three minutes.
Step 1. She asks in her own words
Ask a Question
What you are watching:Maria was told her cancer had spread. Like most people, she did not take much in at the appointment, and she does not know the medical terms. Watch her type it in her own words, and watch Paxis ask one question back to narrow things down.
Step 2. She looks up the drug she was given
About My Medication
What you are watching:Watch her type the name off her pill bottle and press one button. Paxis searches the research and comes back with four things in plain English: what it is, how it works, what side effects people report, and what to ask her doctor about it.
Step 3. She pastes in her pathology report
Explain My Report
What you are watching:Reports get handed over full of terms nobody explains. Watch her paste the text straight in, then watch Paxis translate each term. Pay attention to what it refuses to do at the end, because that boundary is deliberate.
Step 4. She logs how she is feeling between visits
Symptom Diary
What you are watching:Watch her add one entry: what she noticed, and how bad it was. That is the whole interaction. Paxis gives no opinion on any of it. The point is what she can tell her doctor at the next appointment.
Step 5. Her oncologist connects her
My Care Team
What you are watching:Everything so far worked with no doctor involved. This step is optional. Watch her enter the code her oncologist gave her. It unlocks two things: answers that know her real diagnosis, and a way to send questions to her actual care team.
Step 6. She asks something an app should not answer
Ask a Question
What you are watching:This is the most important screen in the demo. She asks whether to stop her treatment. Watch Paxis explain what is generally known, then stop and hand the question to her doctor instead of answering it.
Step 7. Her real oncologist answers
Ask a Question
What you are watching:The question landed in Dr. Reyes's Paxis inbox with a draft reply already written for her. She edited it and sent it. The answer comes back into the same conversation, clearly from the doctor and not from Paxis.
